8799 Late Victorian Eastlake Marble-Top #Chest of Drawers

This nineteenth-century commode features three full-width drawers constructed from a light-grained wood, likely pine or fruitwood, with a honey-toned finish. The drawer fronts are distinguished by unique incised geometric decoration, featuring diagonal bands containing three small circles on either side of a central rhomboid-shaped burl veneer inlay. Each drawer is equipped with a central keyhole and two ornate cast metal bail pulls. The piece is crowned with a thick, square-edged white marble top with grey veining, which shows a circular reddish-brown stain on the right side. The sides of the chest are simple recessed panels, and the base is a solid plinth with small decorative cutouts at the feet. A note indicates the marble top is currently unattached. 31h x 41.5w x 17d
