This is an authentic early 20th-century vertical wardrobe steamer trunk. The exterior features forest green painted panels framed by black-coated metal protective edging, secured with brass rivets. It is reinforced with heavy brass-plated steel corner guards, sturdy hinges on the rear spine, and a multi-latch locking mechanism on the front. A gold foil decal on the front-right panel identifies the piece as an 'American Beauty' model by 'The Globe Trunk Co. Los Angeles'. When opened vertically, the interior reveals a blue-textured paper or fabric lining. The left side contains a slide-out metal garment rack holding an original, stylized dual-ended bentwood clothes hanger and a lower compartment with a drop-front door secured by leather pulls.
