8583 Louis XV Style Marquetry Bombe #Chest

This furniture piece is a three-tier bombe commode with a pronounced serpentine front and curved sides. It is topped with a heavy, contoured slab of dark green marble featuring white and grey veining, which shows a prominent structural crack on the left side. The exterior is clad in a multi-toned wood parquetry veneer arranged in a diamond-and-chevron pattern. The piece is heavily embellished with cast gilt-bronze (ormolu) hardware, including rococo-style foliate drawer pulls, corner mounts (chutes) depicting acanthus leaves and scrolls, and protective foot caps (sabots). The drawer configuration consists of two small top drawers above two full-width lower drawers. Significant veneer chipping and loss are visible along the lower edge of the bottom drawer and on the bottom-right corner. 33h x 41w x 22d (Marble is not attached)
