8396 Late Victorian Reeded Oak Two-Drawer Bachelor's Chest

NO KEY. 23.5h x 42w x 19d A compact solid oak chest featuring two full-width drawers with horizontal reeded carving across the fronts. The piece is fitted with four ornate brass batwing bail handles and two decorative brass keyhole escutcheons. The top surface is secured with visible pegging along the front and back edges. The drawer boxes are constructed with machine-cut dovetail joints. The sides of the chest are finished with recessed rectangular panels, and the entire unit rests on a thick, continuous plinth base. The wood has a medium golden finish, showing a distinct circular water mark and scattered surface scratches on the top, along with minor nicks to the edges of the plinth.
