8147 Vintage French Provincial Style Painted Slant-Front #Desk

This is a compact slant-front secretary desk finished in a matte, pale yellow paint. The piece features a hinged drop-down writing surface that, when opened, reveals a white-painted interior compartment containing two small drawers with round brass-toned knobs and a central arched pigeonhole. Below the desk portion is a single wide drawer with a scalloped lower apron and two ornate, scrolled cast-metal pulls. The entire structure is supported by four slender cabriole legs. The current finish shows significant wear, particularly on the front legs where large sections of yellow paint have flaked away to reveal a lavender-colored undercoat or primer.
